• Non-magnetic in all conditions.
• Good high-temperature strength; retains ductility after many hours in service.
• Resists spalling even under severe thermal cycling conditions.
• Good resistance against carburization and carbonitriding.
• At elevated temperatures, has to good resistance in oxidizing, sulfur-bearing environments.
• Not for use in strongly reducing, sulfur-bearing environments.
• Can be cut, formed, and welded.

Inconel 617 wire cloth is principally used in extremely high-temperature environments that also present corrosive, oxidizing, and/or reducing agents.
